A parent for each swimmer must commit to volunteer for the club a minimum number of service hours per annual season. This amount will vary depending on how much your child swims for the club. For example, parents from the Recreational team are asked to help for one event per season (though not required), while an Age Group competition team member will require 20 hours. Donations of snacks/beverages for our various events may also count toward the service hours obligation at an approximate rate of $20 cost of purchases per one hour of service.

There will be multiple opportunities throughout the season to fulfill this requirement. Each event will be given a minimum service hours allocation and the service hours will be tracked to ensure compliance. The tracker may be requested by emailing [email protected]

For example:

  • Each mandatory parent meeting will count as one (1) hour.
  • $20 box of chips will count as one (1) hour.
  • LTADs timer, video recorder, point logger, etc may count for 2~4 hours depending on assignment.
  • Spring Recital refreshment sales table may count for three (3) hours.
  • Secure brand sponsors, raise funds through Double Good Popcorn sales, etc.

Here are the approximate mandatory service hours requirements per team:

  • 12U Novice/Intermediate, 13-15, Junior B: 5 hours
  • Age Group 12U: 10 hours
  • Age Group Youth/Junior:  15 hours

Sharks & Mermaids and Recreational teams do not have volunteer requirements.

A fine of $20 will be charged per hour not completed at the end of the season. Please email the board if you have questions or concerns - [email protected].

The following is the current status of service hours logged for our members. If your name is not listed and you have fulfilled service hours, or your hours are mistaken, please contact [email protected].
